How Plumb Access Equipment, LLC Uses MFG to Compare Prices and Access Suppliers Beyond Their Local CommunityAbout Plumb Access Equipment
Stephen Leonard co-owns Plumb Access Equipment, LLC, where he and his team specialize in designing gas filling systems and heavy construction solutions. Operating out of a small community, Stephen often struggled to find suppliers with the right materials and capabilities. Without a centralized place to search, sourcing typically required extra effort and was limited by what nearby shops could support.

“MFG gives me the visibility I never had. It’s the first place I go when I need real pricing and real supplier options.”
Before MFG
Stephen’s main challenge was the lack of a reliable, centralized way to find fabrication and material suppliers.
“There’s not a central database for specific suppliers,” he explained.
Local shops often couldn’t source the materials he needed or didn’t have the expertise for certain projects. That left him with few options and no efficient way to compare alternatives.
Having used MFG in a previous role, he decided to return to the platform as a buyer around 2022.
The Solution: MFG’s Platform
Posting RFQs on the MFG Marketplace gave Stephen broader access to suppliers beyond his immediate community. Instead of relying only on local contacts, he could gather multiple quotes in one place and compare them.
He emphasized how much effort this saved:
“I had access to a single source of information. It reduced the effort that would have been required for me to find suppliers.”
He also found that the structure of supplier quotes helped clarify his own design direction. Seeing how prices were broken down allowed him to narrow his focus and understand what, exactly, he needed to request.
“It helped shape and define the design process,” Stephen said.
The Results
-
Price Comparison
When asked which feature he uses most, Stephen answered immediately: “Price comparison.” MFG gives him a clear way to evaluate competitive pricing, something he couldn’t do locally. -
Broader Supplier Access
The Marketplace helped confirm when problems were unique to his small town. For example, when a local shop told him they couldn’t obtain a specific material, MFG helped him see that the limitation wasn’t industry-wide — just local. -
Reduced Sourcing Effort
Instead of manually searching for suppliers one by one, Stephen can review everything from a single, centralized source. He feels it cut sourcing time by at least 50%.
And They’re Not The Only Ones…

Christini Technologies
Needed a platform that would allow them to understand price and quality comparisons.

DESHAZO
Needed to find manufacturers capable of making parts fast at extreme quality standards.

Everyware
Was looking for a more economically feasable way to source custom parts.
