How GO2 Found the Right Partners to Build Their Carbonation DeviceAbout GO2
As the founder of GO2, Christopher Archer set out to build a key component for his most complex product yet: an on-the-go carbonation device. He expected that finding the right manufacturing partner would be one of the toughest steps until he discovered the MFG Marketplace.

Before MFG
As a product developer bringing a complex design to life, Christopher expected months of trial and error to find a capable manufacturing partner. Without finalized CAD files, he struggled to get meaningful feedback and found that most traditional sourcing platforms weren’t set up to support early-stage startups like his. He submitted quotes elsewhere but never heard back—leaving him unsure how to move forward until he discovered MFG.
The Solution: The MFG Marketplace
While researching online, Christopher came across the MFG Marketplace — a platform built to connect buyers directly with qualified manufacturers.
“What I liked right away was that it wasn’t just a directory,” he said. “It’s an actual marketplace where you can find real partners and get quotes quickly.”
Even with preliminary designs, Christopher was able to share concepts through the platform’s quoting process and receive valuable input from suppliers. Within just a couple of hours, he received his first quote, and soon after, multiple responses followed — including two manufacturers in the first 48 hours after posting the job, capable of producing his device and open to collaboration.
The Results
- Faster Connections: Christopher received his first quote within a day and quickly found two qualified partners able to prototype and produce his carbonation device.
- Collaborative Feedback: Early supplier engagement helped Christopher identify which design features could actually be produced at scale. Manufacturers suggested adjustments to make his parts easier to machine and assemble—giving him actionable direction before his CAD files were finalized.
- Streamlined Sourcing: What he expected to be the hardest part of launching Go2 turned out to be one of the easiest.
- Ongoing Partnerships: The manufacturers he met through the MFG Marketplace continue to support Go2’s production as the company moves forward.
“I was able to come in without final designs and still find partners who understood what I needed,” Christopher said. “The process was a lot easier than I expected.”
Why Christopher Chose the MFG Marketplace
- Direct access to manufacturers: The Marketplace made it easy to connect with suppliers ready to quote real projects.
- Ease of use: Christopher could upload concepts and receive feedback in days, not months — with his first quote arriving in just one day.
- Collaborative experience: Manufacturers engaged early and offered input to refine his design.
Christopher was very pleased with the parts he received from the two manufacturers he found through MFG. He appreciated how they took his designs and made them manufacturable, and he confirmed that the finished product worked as intended.
Because of the positive experience and the strong relationships he developed, Christopher plans to continue working with the MFG team to submit RFQs directly to those same manufacturers for future projects — keeping the process smooth and efficient.
“Now that I’ve found the right partners, it’s easy to keep things moving,” Christopher said.
